What do you love about yoga (do you love yoga?) What I love about yoga is the equanimity it offers me each day. Yoga helps me remember who I am.

What is your intention as a teacher? My intention is to facilitate an accessible, nurturing and playful class environment where students feel nourished by the possibilities of Yoga practice. A space where we dial up a curiosity of the inner workings of the body to dial down the noise and demands of the mind. I hope to spark a creative connection to ourselves with space for self-study and well-deserved rest and recuperation.

What is your party trick? No party tricks as such in sound meditation, but I had my bespoke monochord made for me in the Czech Republic by a team of beautiful craftspeople there. I have the top five notes in an open tuning so I can adjust the sound to different tonal styles of music.

(My yoga party-trick is to land in a T- stand, lateral stretch, back to T-stand after exiting half-moon - nothing too difficult, just a fancy way to come out of Ardha Chandrasana. I actually had a student call out “Ta-Da!!! after I guided a class through it one time. Needless to say, we all cracked up …)

What do you love about yoga (do you love yoga?): I love that yoga moves me though the different seasons. It's there when I need energy and challenge, when I need to soothe and seek clarity and it's there when I don't know what I need but trust something will reveal itself.

What is your intention as a teacher? My intention is to facilitate an accessible, nurturing and playful class environment where students feel nourished by the possibilities of Yoga practice. A space where we dial up a curiosity of the inner workings of the body to dial down the noise and demands of the mind. What do you love about yoga (do you love yoga?): Wholeheartedly! Since I was a kid, I’ve always felt that there was something bigger than what we can touch or see, a world of energy, consciousness and subtle forces.

I was constantly searching for answers about the mind, the unseen and why we’re here. I was first drawn to Buddhism, and then at 16 I walked into my first Hatha yoga class: it was a revelation!

Something in me, a seed was planted, and I’ve never stopped coming back to the practice.

Over the years, especially through studying Tantra and Ayurveda, Yoga has become less of something I do and more of something I live. It’s much more devotional now, woven into how I eat, move, rest, relate to others (and myself!) and show up for the world.

It’s through yoga that I’ve learned to understand life, what’s in front of me and what can only be felt.

What is your intention as a teacher? My intention is to hold a space where people can breathe, move, feel and meet themselves with honesty and kindness. I don’t want students to shape themselves into the practice and feel that they need to perform or "achieve". (don't get me wrong, they will be challenged though, in the best and most mindful way possible!) but I want the practice to meet them where they are. If they leave feeling a little more connected, a little more "human" and a little more at home within themselves, then I’ve done my job!

What is your party trick?

I can go from ‘om shanti’ to full twerk mode the moment a 90s beat hits the speaker. From one dharma to another haha

Star Sign: Gemini

Hometown: I was born in Dublin, Ireland and I moved to Australia when I was 3. I have only been back once and as I grow older I feel a deeper interest and pull towards learning the lineages and history of Ireland - over the last few years I’ve found a lot of comfort and understanding there.

Trainings: I have completed my 200hr training in Vinyasa Yoga, 50hr in Yin Yoga, an in-depth course in Taoist Energetics and am currently beginning my studies in Chinese Medicine - Acupuncture.

What do you love about yoga (do you love yoga?): oh my goodness that’s a hard question! It would be a lot easier and shorter if it was “what don’t you love about yoga” Yoga for me is a moment to just simply come home to myself, to be there with my breath, my body, the moment that is unraveling and to just witness it all; with curiosity, with kindness, with patience. I think ultimately I love yoga for the way that it holds us, for the way that it connects us, not only to ourselves, not only to the people physically in the room that we may be sharing our practice with, but to the ones who have gone before us, to our teachers, to our students, to everyone who’s energy has touched yoga.

What is your intention as a teacher? Hmm to create a space where there is no pressure for anyone’s practice to look a certain way or the same way to someone else in the room. To hopefully make students feel comfortable to explore their practice and to be with themselves in whatever way they are needing in that moment. And lastly to share the lineage of yoga that runs so deep to the best of my ability, and I hope that expands as I grow as a person, as a student and as a teacher.

What is your party trick? I can low keyyyy do the moon walk but I need to be wearing socks ahaha my friends are impressed by it but I’m not so sure 😂

What do you love about yoga (do you love yoga?): I love yoga for The space it allows to see what needs to be seen.

What is your intention as a teacher? My intention is to allow you to meet the pauses in between. To become aware of the deeper longings from the heart, the deeper wishes we wish to curate and bring to all that to the forefront.

What is your party trick? 🤷‍♀️ (FINE KEEP YOUR SECRETS RACHAEL)
