Green Witch Potions

“We will not tire of explaining that each plant and tree is a physical body of an elemental of nature who is preparing to one day enter into the animal kingdom and later into the human kingdom”

  • V.M Samael Aun Weor, Ingeneous Rose

Green Witch Potions is Katie’s herbal product line, using, ethically sourced and where possible, organic materials. Green Witch Potions is chemical, paraben and toxin free, designed to heal and soothe the body. This use of herbs is not only beneficial for your health, but a beautiful way to connect to nature.

Green Witch (also known as a garden/flora witch) is a witch whose practice surrounds the use of gardening, flowers, herbs, trees and generalised plant life, hence the title "Green". Green Witches will be meticulous when it comes to their gardens, will grow lots of plants including herbs, flowers, foods and even things we would consider "weeds". Each and every plant seen around the Green Witch's home would have some sort of use to that Witch (yes, even the grass!) Indoors you may see more plants, either being grown in pots, or being dried for use. A Green Witch will use plants in almost every aspect of their craft, from casting spells, to cooking their meals, and even cleaning their homes. They're practitioners who focus mostly on one aspect (unlike eclectic witches who focus on multiple aspects of Witchery). Green Witches have an affinity with nature and Mother earth, have a love for animals and wildlife and are in-tune with the earth’s natural cycles.

Behind the Scenes of Green Witch Potions

Green Witch Potions was born from a combination of my desire for a vessel of creativity, my love of herbs and a lifelong curiosity with health and wellness. I like to think of Green Witch Potions products as my magic and the process of the creations, is the casting of a spell. Like any effective magic spell, it is a process of layers that can't be rushed, brainstorming and thinking outside the box. Ideas come and go (sometimes I wonder if it's possible to have a single original thought anymore but then I listen to Bon Iver circa 2019 and my faith is restored) my inspiration comes from my life, the people in my life, Mother Nature, music, ancient wisdom, what I think is missing in the wellness industry, what I think is helpful and most importantly what I love.

My ideas of creation come through quite relentlessly. The hardest part for me to stagger the release, once I have decided on my next product, there is a lot of research to be done. Researching the oils, herbs, what seems original and the energetics of these elements. While all of this is happening I'll also be thinking of a name for the product, how I can make this product unique and different, as well as starting to think about what this product will look like. It is very rare that a product will be nailed in one go, it's usually a series of experiments, ideas thrown away, ideas brought in, trialling combinations on myself, friends, family and yoga students. This is all a part of  the refining process.

Once finalised I'll send off my product details as a concept, sometimes just a feeling or vibe, to my creative team. I'm blessed to work with some incredibly creative women, Renae Roberts, Karla Barker and Elle Bogward, who I trust 100% to understand and exceed my vision. Once it's out of my hands, I'm usually starting to think about the launch, the photo-shoot and also what am I making next?! The design goes to my label printing team and then when I get that back, that's when things get super exciting. The Launch of my products is always a learning process, it will be preceded by a photo-shoot (also with creative genius Renae/Karla/Elle) depending on the product, what it represents and the story I'm trying to convey, I'll use a model (usually a friend who embodies what I'm trying to express through my product) or work with props and the product as it is. This is a really special and super fun layer to the process. This will be a journey of creating a Pinterest Board of themes, inspiration and ideas that I'll share with Renae and Elle and the models. We choose a location and from there, I hand the reins over to the photographers. The photoshoots are an explosion of creativity and joy, it’s beautiful to see something I have created being respected and treated like a superstar. Once I have an image to work with - I launch. I usually do a celebratory competition and then it's out into the universe, up in my shop and ready for you. Green Witch Potions is a lesson of patience, it's a throwback to the white witch, the medicine women of our ancestors and it is my offering to you from the depths of my heart.
