The inspiration for Sacred came from my love of Mother Bali. I have been lucky enough to visit Bali many, many times. I was taken as a child by my Mum and Dad on incredible holidays, trips with beautiful friends to immerse in yoga, and for teacher trainings. Bali has always been a place to escape to when, well, I have needed to escape. For me and I know for many people, Bali is sacred. That feeling when you land was always like the biggest exhalation, the vibration of the moutains, the smell of canang sari in the quiet mornings and sweet fruit and frangipani in the afternoon humidity. I love Bali, I love the people, I love who I am there, I love every trip I have taken and everything Bali represents, as the most beautiful and special emergency escape route exit (Blessed to be in Perth and have had Bali so close). When you know, you know.
I have a friend who shares my love fro Bali and what it represents to us, we like to watch Eat, Pray, Love (we do talk over it because to be fair it is kinda annoying) burn musk and jasmine incence, listen to Bali Spa Music and talk alot about the menu at Sayuri. Every now and then something will bring Bali Vibes, a feeling, a place, a weather situation and of course, a smell. If you know me, you know how much I love scents. I’m sure this is one of the many reasons, according to Buddhism, I will be reincarnated back once again and I do not care. I wanted to create a perfume that brings the biggest Bali vibes and to be fair, I have done a pretty good job of that. I miss Bali and who knows if I will ever be able to go there again but I have been blessed to even go there and have Mama Bali to hold me.

Indonesian Sandalwood (Santalum album) Santalum album aka Sandalwood Essential Oil is derived from the steam distillation of sandalwood. It has an earthy aroma that’s very grounding and comforting. It always reminds me of a line from Wes Anderson’s Darjeeling Limited “I love how spicy it smells” he could well have been referencing the beautiful sandalwood as it wafts through Hindu temples of India. Sandalwood is alluring, exotic and deeply grounding. It’s straight up sensuality. Energetically, sandalwood, enhances meditation, creates serenity, instils inner calm, deeply grounding & harmonising, gives feelings of strength, warmth and vitality, awakens sensuality, awareness, opens us up to learning unconditional love, opens memory of past live experiences.
