Liberty - Unisex Cologne for the People

Remember in the nineties when Calvin Klein released CK ONE and CK BE and anyone who was anyone, smelt like those beautiful unisex scents? I feel like any scent can be unisex - we can do what we like, right? You don’t need anyone’s permission. So the fact that this is a unisex cologne is neither here nor there, but I will say, I wanted to create a smoky, woody, dusty scent but also clean, cowboy/cowgirl smell that was somehow neutral in nature. The rebel with a cause. This reminds me of hanging out around a fire pit while camping, swapping adventure stories, old style rail journeys, drinking whiskey in speak easy, underground London bars, road trips with the roof down and being on the run.

Organic Cold Pressed Jojoba Oil

Australian Sandalwood Essential Oil (Santalum spicatum) Santalum album aka Sandalwood Essential Oil is derived from the steam distillation of sandalwood. It has an earthy aroma that’s very grounding and comforting. It always reminds me of a line from Wes Anderson’s Darjeeling Limited “I love how spicy it smells” he could well have been referencing the beautiful sandalwood as it wafts through Hindu temples of India. Sandalwood is alluring, exotic and deeply grounding. It’s straight up sensuality. Energetically, sandalwood, enhances meditation, creates serenity, instils inner calm, deeply grounding & harmonising, gives feelings of strength, warmth and vitality, awakens sensuality, awareness, opens us up to learning unconditional love, opens memory of past live experiences.

Vanilla Essential Oil (Vanilla plantifora) Warm, rich, exotic and sweet but not too sweet. Vanilla cuts through the smoke, wood, the earthiness of Liberty and adds that hint of feminine energy (that’s in all of us) to encourage creativity and a reminder that there is strength in gentleness too. It’s that beautiful balance of healthy masculine and healthy feminine energy. I love vanilla forever.

Oakmoss Essential Oil (Evernia Prunastri) *Insert drooling face emoji* Oakmoss is earthy, woody and musky. It’s how I imagine Robert Redford and Paul Newman smelt in the Seventies and Liv Tyler and Drew Barrymore in the nineties😍. Energetically, Oakmoss invigorates and enhances our sensitivity and awareness, it’s grounding and sensual. It’s dreamy AF.

Vetiver Essential Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides) Vetiver is deep, smoky and earthy. It’s one of my favourite smells (I say that alot - I know, it still has meaning). Energetically, Vetiver is beneficial for those that need to be brought into close contact with the earth, it grounds and centres energies, protects from negativity. Vetiver is like taking a long exhale in the woods, with that unique feeling of freedom in solitude. I wonder what happened to that band in the early 2000’s called Vetiver. If anyone knows, let me know.

Australian Blue Cypress Essential Oil  (Callitris intratropica) This Australian native has a unique, sweet, fruity note that ages with beautiful grace. Energetically, blue cypress encourages peaceful acceptance of the present.  It has an affinity for the solar plexus, third eye, and crown energy centres. Blue Cypress is emotionally calming and grounding. It stabilises an over active mind, and helps balance mental activity. It’s the perfect woody and smoky base note for Liberty.

Patchouli Essential Oil (Pogestemon patchouli) Patchouli is rich, musky, sweet and spicy. I’m a big fan of Patchouli, it’s the butt of a lot of jokes made by straight laced folk about what hippies, free thinkers, spiritually inclined, mediators smell like. I mean, if that’s what they smell like, I want to smell like that too? Energetically, Patchouli brings a sense of sacredness of life, harmonising, grounding and balancing effect on the emotions and mind. Patchouli helps relieve feelings of sadness, loss and creates new hope, it releases obsession, insecurities, jealousies, enhancing our desire to live a fuller life. There is no shame in smelling like Patchouli. Give me all the Patchouli. Give it to me on a drip.

Black Pepper Essential Oil (Piper nigrum) Black Pepper is dry, warm, spicy and woody. Providing a spicy kick to Liberty. Energetically Black Pepper, increases warmth to the body and mind. Heals physical and emotional coldness. Empowers and releases those with negative energies and helps us embrace our own power. Helps us to move on when we are feeling stuck.

Directions; Apply to pulse points to awake your inner rebellion. Throw out your television, question the narrative, discover who you are, meet you at midnight, choose freedom. Don't let anyone put a chip in your body.
